Daily hunt forecasts

Know which days are worth going — and why.

Keep your map app. HuntPulse scores every day on your own ground — the front, the temperature against normal, the wind on your stands, and where the rut is on your ground — and tells you which sit to take and what is holding a day back. It arrives as a calendar you subscribe to once.

Two minutes, once

Set the ground up, and the scoring has something to score

Draw the boundary

Terrain, slope and aspect are then sampled across the whole property. A dropped pin scores one point on a hillside; a boundary scores the hillside.

Drop where you sit

Each stand is a place the score can be computed FOR. Without them there is one number for the ground and no answer to "which one do I sit today".

Add the camera and the feeder

Not every marker is a sit. A feeder is food, which the harvest score listens to; a camera is a lane you are watching without being there.

Mark the sign you find

Tracks and scrapes pin what is actually happening to the ground being scored — and the journal they hang off is what drives the hunting-pressure penalty.

Aim them, and the cones light up

A facing turns a marker into a lane you are watching. Sixty degrees wide, because that is roughly what you really watch from a stand.

Now the wind means something

Stand A is looking downwind — your scent goes straight into the lane you are watching, and the advantage score marks it down. Stand B, same ground, same wind, is clean.

One score hides four different questions

Cold with a hard wind moves deer and ruins a bow sit. A calm, clear fifty degrees is poor movement and a fine morning to glass. Those are not the same day, so HuntPulse does not pretend they score the same.

Movement

Will the animal move?

Temperature against the seasonal normal, 24- and 48-hour trends, front passage, pressure, and where the rut actually is.

Visibility

Will you see or hear it?

Fog, precipitation, cloud and light, fresh snow for tracking — and for turkey, the wind and rain that shut gobbling down.

Advantage

Can you get in undetected?

Wind speed, gusts, and whether the direction holds. Thermals off your slope and aspect. Whether the ground is quiet enough to walk.

Harvest

Does it all come together?

The other three, blended for the species — then adjusted for how hard the ground has been hunted and what there is to eat.

When to go, and why

A number on its own is a verdict. Every day on HuntPulse comes with the reasoning, so you can decide whether it is worth the drive.

The sit, not just the day

Morning, midday or evening?

Each sit scored on its own. In the chase and the bugle a midday sit appears, and when all three hold up the day is called an all-day sit.

What is holding it back

Why is this a B and not an A?

The one or two things costing the most points, and whether fixing them would be enough — or only get it closer.

Your rut, not a regression

When does it happen on your ground?

The rut curve is the biggest term in the score. Set your own date for your ground and every day re-times around it.

Told when it changes

Did Saturday just become an A?

A weekly email with the best day on each piece of ground, and on Pro, a same-morning note when a day rises to your grade.

The season ahead

Which weeks should I ask off for?

The best weeks of the season, ranked from the rut and your season dates, months before any forecast reaches them.

Which days to take

I can hunt two days. Which two?

On Pro: say how many days and which weekdays, and it picks them, spacing the sits so one does not spoil the next.

Your state's dates

When does gun season open here?

Season dates filled in from the state's own regulations when you add your ground — Alabama and Virginia so far, more as members join.

Checked against real sits

Do A days actually beat C days?

Hunters log how each sit went, and the pooled figures are published once there are enough to be honest.

Private by default

Your land stays yours

Every location you add is secret unless you say otherwise. The coordinates, the property boundary you draw, and your stand positions are encrypted before they are stored — and left out of the admin portal entirely. Nobody browsing the database, and no other subscriber, can see where your ground is.

Your calendar events carry the name you chose and nothing else. No coordinates, no map pin, no place name.

The honest limit. Scoring your ground means decrypting it every morning on the server, so whoever runs HuntPulse could recover a location. This defeats database browsing, the admin interface, and every other user — not the operator. We claim exactly that much and no more.

What you get per property

  • Draw your boundary on the map, or snap to a parcel where we have one
  • Public-land and section-line layers, so the lines land where they should
  • Terrain sampled across the whole property, not one pin
  • Wind scored against your stands — including whose way your scent is going
  • Bring your stands from onX, HuntStand or any map app that exports GPX or KML
  • A journal for pressure and food, which the score actually listens to

Scored per species

Each species gets its own weights and its own biological calendar. Turkey rewards a rising barometer; whitetail barely notices it. Elk care about snow in a way deer do not.
